This week, we began our new weekly ritual of bus trips to our local library. Having our community affirmed within our early learning setting enables our tamariki to make meaningful connections across the settings of their lives.
It was all excitement as we approached the much anticipated ‘bus stop’, however, in reality the bus was a little different to what a couple of our friends were anticipating which was a learning opportunity in itself, as they developed some new coping strategies.
We also enjoyed further exploration of our local sites, into Chartwell and enjoyed a fluffy!
It was lovely to see all of the tamariki confidently exploring the library and showing such a deep understanding of how we be respectful within this environment and with the books. They carefully selected their books and found some spaces in which they could read them. Prior to leaving they got to select a book to bring back to the centre to share with the rest of the tamariki.
